At Tottemo Production, we offer a range of services that centre on the embodied, emotional, and narrative dimensions of knowledge. We work at the intersection of art and research — developing methods, formats, and artistic strategies that allow difficult, tacit or layered phenomena to be expressed, represented, and experienced.

Our services are especially relevant for researchers, institutions, and innovation industries seeking to expand their methodology through Artistic Research, or looking to integrate performative, narrative, or audiovisual components into larger research environments.

We believe that stories are not only told — they are lived, staged, drawn, and sensed. Our methods draw from theatre, film, performance and design to activate the emotional undercurrents of a theme or inquiry for the purpose of outreach into a wider audience.

Direction & Narrative Conceptualization

We shape artistic works from idea to execution — be it film, installation, or staged performance. We support research-based projects in defining their narrative form, aesthetic vocabulary, and affective tone.

Scriptwriting & Dramaturgical Consulting

We develop scripts and offer dramaturgical insight for film, performance, and research-oriented productions. Our focus is on structure, subjectivity, and the ethical tension between form and content.

Artistic Research & Co-Creation

We design and train AI-driven characters with rich backstories, emotional logic, and ethical depth. Example of Research Collaboration between Art and Science, a short film project: ”Who Stands Up for Alvar” (18 min)

One example is the short film Who Stands Up for Alvar (2024), developed in close collaboration with researchers from Lund University, University of Gothenburg, and Södertörn University. The project focused on moral stress and ethical agency in eldercare.

Based on real case studies, we transformed research material into a cinematic drama where characters embody structural dilemmas rather than moral binaries. The result is an 18-minute fictional film that portrays the lived consequences of systemic failures in public care, without simplifying or accusing.

The film has been screened across municipalities, universities, and political forums, functioning as a catalyst for discussions between politicians, researchers, social workers, and students. It exemplifies how film and fiction can serve as tools of dissemination, reflection, and negotiation within a research process.
