SAM

The story is based on a true encounter with my first loves father. I had lived with SAM for a couple of years but never knew his father. I asked if we could go and visit him once. Of couse I have developed the story dramatised it but the trigger that mad me want to tell it was the fact that Sam´s father had named his dog after his son that he hadn’t seen for nine years. Shortly after we broke up and I moved to another country.
In 2010 Sams brother called me and told me that Sam’s passed away. It still feels unreal. I dedicate this film to Sam and his three children.

Who stands up for Alvar

In partnership with researchers from Lund University, University of Gothenburg, and Södertörn University, Tottemo Production created the short film Who Stands Up for Alvar (2024), based on real-life case studies on moral stress in eldercare. The film has been screened in municipalities, universities and public forums across Sweden and Europe, initiating vital conversations between care workers, policy makers, and students. This project was a monolog interpreted by Misa Lommi. In her mid twenties she was supposed to portray a woman of 80 years. We realized that within our bodies, whatever the age, there is another mental body that follows no rules but rather leads an emotional age that constantly changes depending on the change in mood.

In the film I treated the subject of striving for your dreams. Of how easy it is to fall into the trap of stereotype roles when two artists builds a family. How a dream can become a nightmare when the beautiful house that artist couple moved to in the woods is in need of so much maintenance that they loose contact and never see eachother.
